Dad's Day and the Garden

I hope you had a wonderful Father's Day! We sure did even though we didn't get to see any of our father's today (we all live far away from each other). It was a very low key relaxing day though, just the way Micah likes it. :)

I had to work in the garden today. We had been so busy this past week that I kind of, maybe, well, neglected it a bit.

Rutgers tomatoes. Yum, Yum! If only they were ripe.

Beefsteak tomatoes.

Cherry tomatoes.

The corn is growing taller, and more newly planted corn coming up.

And check out our pumpkin plant, it has tripled in size since I took a picture of it two weeks ago!

And I am really excited about this. It's calendula. And it has lots of great health benefits and I can't wait for more to grow in.

The boys played catch....

...My daughter had some bubble fun, and picked wild flowers for Micah...

We had deer meatloaf for dinner with a deer that Micah shot and we ground up, mixed with our own eggs and an onion  from the garden. It was to die for, and you can get more home grown than that.

We finished off the night with a nice long family walk. It was a wonderful day and I am so thankful for such a wonderful father to my children and all the wonderful men in our lives who have fathered us over the years. Hope you enjoyed your day too. :)
