I've really fallen off my rocker this time.
First it was moving to the country. Then we acquired a few chickens, then suddenly I was milking goats and butchering chickens and slaughtering pigs, and growing a garden and preserving my harvest....
....But now. I'm really worried.
Now myself and my children are going out in the yard and finding dandelions and eating them!
Yes, eating them. I had dandelion tea tonight (with the leaves only). Tea can be made the same way you would make mint tea.
I have no idea who I am anymore, but I tell you, I like it. I like sustainable living. I like depending less and and less on the grocery store. I like knowing where my food is coming from and what I am putting into my children's little bodies.
And dandelions are really, really good for you. Read this article and you'll agree.
Tomorrow we'll have a dandelion salad with lemon chicken, and fresh fruit, and later in the week I'm going to try my hand at grinding the wild herb and using it as a coffee substitute. (Oh yes, I've definitely lost my mind.)
We took a break from searching for dandelions and had a little bubble time. :)
Who knows what we'll do next!
